I like it, nice and lively, very consistent vibe throughout the entire track

Pity about the extreme level cap but i guess that's your limiter, still sounds good enough though provided i play it at low volume myself.

DESHIEL responds:

Yes I always have FL limiter on my stuff. I usualy ignore it tho. Should I do something about it? PM me teacher Thinkandtell :D

You've got yourself a nice piece of downtempo here with a bit of an israeli vibe to it as someone ellse already suggested.

I'm pretty sure this panders to a sizeable audience too, so please don't ever talk yourself into believing you somehow must aim for the lowest common denominator at all times. ( Unless they're threatening to cut off your private jet's coke, caviar and champagne supply )

Allso a +1 for checking out the Softube FET, got it in my master bus section for my default song template and i use it all over the place in individual channels/instruments as well, not just on drums.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I think you misunderstand, I don't want to be abstract or obscure. I just want to write what I want to write, how I want to write it.

It has nothing to do with aiming low or trying to fight the mainstream. It is literally that I can't have fun writing music unless I'm writing it just for myself, without worrying over every little thing and how it could be "better" so that more people can enjoy it.

That also doesn't mean that I won't accept criticism, there's a fine line, one that a lot of people falter on when it comes to accepting criticism, "It's supposed to be like that" when someone finds a flaw in your mixing, is for example using "I write for myself" as an excuse for being lazy or poor producing.
I do still want to improve, but the content of my music will be written entirely in such a way that I enjoy it. And constructive criticism can help me improve aspects of what I enjoy writing to be much better.

Glad you like it though.

Are you using a plugin for this?

Try making a kick, snare and hihat next :P

DESHIEL responds:

magical8bitplugin.

Never lol I actualy love the combination of 8bit synth and dis heavy kick. ;)

Love the pullsing in this and the will to not sacrifice repetition for the sake of cheap thrills or what have you.

Think vangelis' bladerunner if jean michel jarre came up with it instead and tangerine dream did the editing. Ah and it really was done by some drunk kids coding it in assembly on the amiga for a demo back in the day while drawing straws on who gets stuck writing the text for the scroller by the time everybody is bleary eyed.

Solid, ponderous stuff.

Anchorwind responds:

Madam, I'm very glad you enjoyed it. As always, I appreciate your reviews, especially yours. The will to not sacrifice repetition (or length) doesn't always come easy, but I'm glad it paid off this time. I would have to agree with ponderous as well, for better and for worse.

Gorgeous piece, just gorgeous.

Elements of dark ambient, harsh electro, catchy breakcore...

Exquisite, thank you for sharing.

Anchorwind responds:

Madam, your feedback is always appreciated. I am thoroughly glad you enjoyed, as I was actually curious of your thoughts when I posted this given your feedback on my farewell piece (which was supposed to the the last one, but I guess MM just can't stay gone). I will see you again.

It's been a great ride, thanks for hsaring.

Anchorwind responds:

You honor me.

Something people can dance to, good for you :3

Overall, it doesn't need to be -quite- this loud, it sounds really nice by it's own merit and it could definitely benefit from a slightly more conservative intro given that you're working up to track that isn't particularly minimal.

You could file this under industrial without batting an eye, i know plenty of folks will appreciate it.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Genres are dumb... I didn't know what this was, so I just put it in Misc.

But glad you like it.

This is a really cool sound.

Why no fade at the end though, you got tired of it? :P

DESHIEL responds:

lazy to rewert the rendering settings. ;D

Like this a lot.

Dunno if it's intentional but it sounds like a live performance to me, slightly low fi and the verb has this medium sized venue feel.

Make more, it's a good vibe.

FightingSeraph responds:

Sounds like a good idea.

Quite good for a work in progress, think it'd work well as a main melody and/or refrain of sorts, very catchy and happy disco vibe.

The only thing i'm not loving here is what i hope is just a placeholder sub bass, it kinda sounds scratchy like a reversed kick sample or some such.

TBM responds:

It's a sub I use normally for harder beats (dubstep, dnb, electro) so I may soften it up quite a bit.
