Quite good

I rather like it.

If anything though, the drums are barely audible. Try giving it a back and forth listen between headphones and proper speakers, should you have access to them.

(don't be afraid to crank up the volume either when you have the opportunity)

By comparison the atmospheric synth and the one functioning as your lead have much more presence throughout the piece.

Overall, very nice composition. It's stimulating and interesting, kind of pixel game/sprite movie feeling to me.

Keep it up :3

NationNinja responds:

Thanks! the drums weren't meant to have a big part in this song. I've been listening to it through my bass amp, so they seemed alot louder. lol.

Rather good

Only thing missing is vocals but i take it that can't be helped.

Keep it up

JoNoGo responds:

thank you very much. Nah ive tried singing and it doesnt work lol.

Nice

Not much wrong with this imo.

As a suggestion though, consider working on the filter decay/release ratio if the kick is synth based. if it happens to be a sample try some equalising as the sub frequency drones on a touch long and is overpowering the rest of your instruments a bit.

Overall good work, keep it up :3

AK-49 responds:

Yeah, I lowered the eq of the kick for more effect on this track (it's a sample from DSorg fyi). Maybe I shouldn't of done that... thanks a lot for the review dude, anythin u want me to check out just shoot a PM

Cool

Seems a touch slower then the original and the sleigh bells are a nice, if somewhat christmas like touch.

Keep it up :3

IchiVo responds:

the bells are in the original too...but they sound a little different then the ones i have :/

Well

I've listened to this and your previous track too, i'd say you're off a to a great start.

Now i've toyed around with this fruity loops mock analogue a bit myself, the thing isn't exactly what i'd call overly flexible so you're excused for having it sound like a triangle wave fest.

I don't know to hook up/rout synths in this program but i'd suggest finding a way to get both your lead and bassline through a seperate low pass filter, cutting both off at a different frequency ofcourse, so you can take the grit out of them and make it sound warmer and less generic.

Once you get the hang of that you'll have like a bajillion potential sounds you can pull out of the instrument and long after getting comfortable with that you can add in an equaliser or have the ouput routed to one and then twiddle around for any kind of emphasis you might like.

Ah and after all that, there'll be a truckload of different synthesizers to experiment with so you can just repeat the process :D

Anyhoo, nice going, keep it up

musicislight2 responds:

Thank you. Yeah, I'm not very skilled at synthesisers and waves and all that, as much as written sheet music and stuff. So, I don't really understand everything you just said. You sound like you know what you're talking about, so could you maybe help me use FL a bit more, if you are willing? Thanks for the 10/10, too! :D

Epic

Really great pop vibe to this, some trancey elements to it too.

It reminds me lot of those showcase tunes used for trainer menus, you know where the cracking crew show off their coding skills and write their shout outs in animated scrolling texts.

Again very authentic sounding, give or take the beat being decideldly modern, different from your previous piece but certainly not any less imo :3

asikeule responds:

thank you :)

Totally sweet

Love how much this sounds like the SID chip, don't know if it is but it's got that depth.

Just using a few tracks makes it sound like it was made on original hardware too.

Keep at it and make more :D

asikeule responds:

It was made with FL Studio ;)

yeah i´m working on a new chiptune already :)

Sweet

It really is a nice synth isn't it? :D

The unstoppable juggernaut of x-men fame comes to mind...

Keep it up

ActionHobo responds:

Thanks!

Sweet

So this is what the unit actually sounds like outside of youtube.

Not bad by a long shot really, lots of depth to it, or "fat" as the beards call it.

I'd get it myself if the price were closer to the kaossilator but who knows, after folks come to grips with it i might hear stuff that'll change my mind.

Congrats on getting your new synth, disregard what anyone may or may not say and keep having fun with it :3

DJclimax responds:

thanks! im definitely having fun with it
i want the kaossilator pro at some point. the shop i was at had both but they wanted $400 for the kaossilator pro and $230 for the monotribe, so the decision on which one to get first was pretty easy

Very interesting

Structured like a covenant track, feelingwise closer to feindflug or grendel...

It's all nicely understated, though you do have a psytrance style throbbing bassline going on which may or may not ask for more presence but it's hard to judge when sampling this at home. (this belongs on the dancefloor and with according volume, obviously)

Sadly i'm not well versed with fruity loops so i've no technical pointers to hand out.

I hope you manage to commit lyrics to paper as this would make a great backing track but it's perfectly fine as is for the time being,.

Chaotichism responds:

Pretty dead on. I had Tactical Sekt and pre-Harsh Generation Grendel in mind when I did this. And my purpose WAS to make it like it was to be heard in a club or venue. I still feel like I need to work on the sampling. I'm horrible at EQ-ing, but I'm still working on it.

Believe it or not, I have lyrics written already. I just need to find a way to put them on the track. All I have is a laptop with a built-in mic, and needless to say, it won't do the job. Haha. But your review was definitely appreciated. Hopefully more will come soon.
